Ok, before anyone wigs out-as this a room by a famous designer- relax. I think it is swank. My question is do you place such a large display/collection on the table that is practically touching the chandelier? I am curious. Does the arrangement dwarf or enhance the fixture? Does it matter? Is the proximity here
Style or Vile?
Yap away.
Can "enh" be an answer?
ReplyDeleteKind of an anemic lighting piece given the "drama" of the rest of the room.
I'm going to bet the vases were lugged over from her shop for the photo shoot.
I think the displayed collection is fine, but the fixture just doesn't turn me on. It's an eyesore in this room. That HOT golden lotus number that Jenny posted the other day, now that would totally enhance the vignette. But definitely hung closet to the ceiling.
ReplyDeleteHave a super awesome weekend chestnut!

Raina-I think enh is fine. It is a good answer for many things.
ReplyDeletestyle! i like! happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI didn't notice the fixture only you pointed it out, but I do like the setup!
ReplyDeleteThey are out of proportion. I'd ditch the light for something bigger and less fussy. So what's the latest on the JR order? :)
ReplyDeleteFrom The Right Bank-Everyone is a bust but us. You know anyone else?
ReplyDeleteI am not digging those black vase things at all. Lose em. And then its perfect. I am OK with a blank table....
ReplyDeleteOh dear. With all the heavy black and large graphic objets, I think the room is too bottom-weighted and the fixture looks too small and light and unsuitable....so some aspects are not vile but not as good as they could be!
ReplyDeletei kind of hate it. don't shoot me! i am a jerk today (and most days). i want to re-do most of the room. argh! sorry for being a sh*t! :[
ReplyDeleteLove the black vases but not with the chandelier (which I don't like at all). Too bad, it could be a great room
ReplyDeletejj
I think the vases are just part of a shoot styling stunt.. but if I had my say, then I'd loose the light fitting and move the vases down on the floor somewhere.. I think the room needs a much stronger pendant lamp with a little edge.. I will resort to my current obsession and suggest a Tom Dixon design would fit the bill.
