help, please.
Ok, loving this. Meaning the shiny white console/shelf with, what appears to be, a reclaimed wood piece on top. Want it. Need it for home. So, where do you go? I think I can get something similar to the bottom at IKEA. Should I google reclaimed wood where I live? What kind of wood do you think this is? Do you know of any great resources?

I would definitely google reclaimed wood where you live. I think IKEA cabinets lined up side-by-side would be a perfect fit. And pecky cypress perhaps? Have to agree, this is gorgeous!
ReplyDeletei do not, but reclaimed wood is awesome looking and great to work with :) good luck, I'll see what I can find out!
ReplyDeleteOak perhaps?
ReplyDeleteI love it too... it could be real or it could even be a poured substance. Definately NOT Ikea though...The real wood is SO INSPIRING!! This is an amazing piece.. good luck finding it and let us know!
ReplyDeletego to craigslist and do a search of "reclaimed wood" in the "household" category and the "farm and garden category"..
ReplyDeleteif you have a craftsman in your area... they can build it. then you can custom size it to your home.. also ck out a local salvage store for reclaimed wood... make it happen!!! its lovely ! xx pam
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, my friend! I really want to see that project completed!
ReplyDeleteI would google "architectural salvage yards" in you area.

DELIGHTFUL!
ReplyDeletemy dad works with wood a lot -- turning bowls, making furniture and rocking chairs, etc. i will see if he has any tips on finding something this fab!
I was going to chime in, but everyone else has it covered.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful installation!
i'm afraid i can't help with the reclaimed-wood knowledge, but that photo is gorgeous! xoxo
ReplyDeleteTry salvage stores and ask for drift wood. You might get lucky!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed,
jj
ikea is a fine idea. i would look for the wood in an antiquitary store.
ReplyDeleteI'm clueless but I love this room. Seriously gorgeous. Keep us posted on what you find.
ReplyDeleteCould it be burl wood that's been bleached? The cut of it reminds me of burl wood tables but I can't see the grain. Love it.

oh i love this white on white interior with the natural wood chair and top. So summery and minimal but natural. wonderful choice. carla
ReplyDeleteWas certain I commented here yesterday but my comment may have gotten lost.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore this idea and agree with you that the lower could absolutely be found at IKEA (yes, I am Swedish..) and think a wood yard or demolition yard might have the wooden top you need. The trick is getting it cut to size and to have that smooth 'overlap' at the front.
LOVE this idea. Thanks for sharing.
Happy weekend.
