Ok, so I know I have been asking for your help a lot lately...so why stop now.
My husband and the kids(teenage kids) and I are going to Southern California in early June. None of us have ever been and we will be there 8 days. We know we are doing the San Diego Zoo, staying in Laguna Nigel and then going into LA the last three days and doing Universal Studios one of those days. What else.?So much terrain, too little time. What are must sees, must do?
Any great thoughts? I appreciate it!
wish I knew only been there once when i was like 12
ReplyDeleteGetty Museum is a must as well as a beautiful sunset picnic in La Jolla.
ReplyDeleteNever been. But I hope you have the best time ever and report back all the goods.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to California, so can't help. Hope you have a wonderful time!

the santa monica pier...fun for kids...good food nearby and great shopping...lots of crazy too..
ReplyDeleteWe did the whole of that coastline although it was a few years ago now !!.
ReplyDeleteWe went to Laguna and we stayed in a house on Newport Beach. We loved Universal Studios and, I should think that it's even better now. I'm sure you will find the best places to go and have a thoroughly brilliant time. XXXX
Santa Monica and Venice for beach, lunch and people-watching. If you want to do a museum, the Norton Simon, the Getty and/or LACMA. Catalina Island is pretty and a fun boat ride. Email me if you want more suggestions!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how old your kids are but: Legoland, the Getty Museum + Malibu (to hang out at one of the small beaches and look at stars (!) (at the Cross Creek).

If you have teenagers you might want to take them to check out UCLA. It's a stunning campus. Sometimes seeing and connecting to a college early is just the motivation they need. Santa Monica is the bomb and is just a stone's throw away! Tons to do for all. Have a blast!!
ReplyDeleteLa Dolfina-That is a GREAT idea. If they end up wanting to go there, I will have to sell my house and move into my car. but I love the idea. I heard it is beautiful. Seems like Santa Monica is a must.
ReplyDeleteIt's so long since I was there but I remember spending a lot of time in or by the ocean. The beaches are fantastic and the relaxed vibe just inspires licking ice creams and lapping sunshine.
ReplyDeleteHope you have an amazing time there!

If they were younger, I'd say Legoland! We loved it, but yours are too old now...
ReplyDeleteYou have plans for the beach, right?
