.style or vile?


Not sure it is obvious what theses are. Do you know what they are? They are steering wheel covers for your car....or Barbie jeep. So my question is, is it stylish to go as far as having a designer steering wheel cover? Or tacky? You decide.

    These are knock-offs to begin with. They are about $30.00. At that price, they are kind of cute if you have a fun little car. They remind me of a post I did recently on Style Redux on "designer" dog beds and toys like Bark Jacobs and Chewy Vuitton.

    G - these are my favorite posts! You find the craziest things. On this, I have to go with tacky, because fake is tacky. These companies don't make steering wheel covers!
    I'm so over the plastered brand look anyway... everyone has them, and the fakes are so prevalent it's impossible to tell who has real and who doesn't (why pay $2000 for a bag someone else is carrying for $70?). Now, even brands with no cache at all have canvas patterns with initials, and churn out bags and accessories plastered with them - as if that increased their style. My favorites now are bags by the best brands - but much more "anonymous" - no mass printed symbols that scream "I'm a Louis!". Subtle touches like hardware and lining are all that give away the name. After all, the point is carry quality, not be a walking billboard!
