I love stripes. My Gramey told me when I was about 19 to never wear horizontal stripes as it was not ladylike. I weighed about 98 pounds and was wearing a guys Ralph Lauren rugby shirt with giant black and navy stripes. I think I must have been quite fetching. But it stuck. I like my stripes better on pillows and rugs. But I do love me a striped dress now and again, and she looks pretty lady-like to me!
You? How do you use stripes?

I adore stripes. In decorating, I use striped silk taffeta curtains everywhere. They look fabulous anywhere you use them.
ReplyDeleteI'm so with you on this. I've always loved stripes. Classic navy and white being my never go wrong favorite.
ReplyDeleteI love striped shirts. Even if horizontal stripes make me look wider...there are worse things in life!
ReplyDeleteNever too many is my motto too when it comes to stripes. I wear a lot of it and my house is full of it - pillows, bedding, rugs . . .
ReplyDeleteI love stripes - I wear them a lot (probably in ways that aren't flattering, but I can't help it). Nautical stripes are a fav.
ReplyDeleteI looove that striped dress! actually I adore all kind of stripes! xo
ReplyDeleteThat's such a silly "rule." Striped tops make pears like me look balanced.
ReplyDeleteOoohh that dress is simply stunning. Loving anything stripey at the moment.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is blue and white stripes on pillows~ So nautical and summery!

I love stripes! I don't wear them much since I'm not a little skinny thing like the girl in the picture. I think they're slimming on my towels though. He he he he :)
ReplyDeleteHugs!!
Stripes can be fun to wear if you pay attention to your shape. I bought this boatneck striped shirt with dolman sleeves that I wear the heck out of. So cute. Oh, and I love pinstriped suits on men.
ReplyDeleteI agree — never too many stripes! Love colorful, playful stripes best. in the home, striped rugs are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI adore stripes, and especially since I now know that small, closely spaced ones are actually slimming because they make your eye travel up and down rather than side to side.
ReplyDeletei was also told the same thing... but i love these. love to mix stripes with other patterns:) besos! p.s. will email you later- and thanks!
ReplyDeletei cant stop starign at the 1st lady so pretty!!!
