I love a great bath or a strong shower. It depends on my mood and need. But I have noticed that many people prefer one over the other, and that those people can have very strong opinions on the matter.
My sister, a shower only girl, is amazed(even 70 times into this debate)that I would enjoy lying in my own dirty water via the bath. She can hardly think of anything more disgusting. When put that way, it does not seem as delightful as when I am surrounded by thousands of bubbles. Another friend can't imagine why would anyone prefer a shower over a soothing rosemary mint bath? She says people who shower live life in a rush. Hmmmmm.... I like it both ways, and if I was in a bath mood, these tubs would make my short list.
How about you? Bath, shower or both!?
i'm with you on this one...both ways for me too. i appreciate the speed of a shower just as much as the slow down pace of the bath. i have to agree with your sister a bit though...sometimes i'm tempted to rinse off in the shower after getting out of the tub. i'm allergic to most bubbles so it is hard to disguise the dirty water. still a glass of wine and some candles along with a bath does wonders after a busy day. (i think i'm having a debate with myself in just trying to answer the question)
ReplyDeleteI love a bath, but I have noticed that I have stopped having them as much since I started blogging. . .
ReplyDeletei'm so with your sister. love the look of a bathtub (like these you found!) but i haven't taken a bath in too many years to count.
ReplyDeleteBoth, I cannot wash my hair in a bath, that would yuck me out! when It is a shower I like it hot and strong, oh yes!
ReplyDeleteIn a Bath, I do that more often just to sooth my mood,.. Love em both, but they gotta be trun your skin red kinda hot,...
i like the hot baths with lots of bubbles~~
ReplyDeletexo's
I love baths, but never have the time...maybe your friend is right. If I had a bath like those I would MAKE the time.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the third one...
ReplyDeleteJen-that is so funny. She will love it!
ReplyDeleteOh what a stunning assortment of photos, I love them all! I have to say that I am a shower gal, but while in Europe usually a bath is the only option, so really kind of enjoy the change when there... I have to say I am with you, I'll go either way!

Hi Jane! Mmm for now I prefer shower, because I had baths for a long long time and I missed a fast refreshing shower! But now I have both and I do love both! When I'm late or I must be quick the shower is the best choice... but sometimes a relaxing, "snuggly" (does this word exist??) bath is welcome!
ReplyDeleteStunning pics :)
I love these pictures... it is making me want to redo the bathroom!
ReplyDeleteI am a shower girl (like your sister), but I am also a hot tub girl...so I get stretches of uninterrupted heat under the stars....
ReplyDeleteThese are all gorgeous but I must confess, I'm a shower kind of gal. I just can't seem to relax in a bath - strange, I know...but I'm always anticipating it being interupted or coming to an end and then having to shower off the bubbles anyway. So, I just cut to the chase and shower.
ReplyDeleteI like a shower for daily cleanliness but a soak in our hot tub, now and then, doesn't suck unless a dog is barking non-stop!!
ReplyDeleteHugs!!
Jaimee-you made me laugh out loud. That is so funny.
ReplyDeleteGreen-eyed momster-Keep those crazy dogs over there. Good lord, I need a bubble bath thinking about them!
I love looking at these gorgeous tubs but would never ever take a bath.
ReplyDeletei agree with YOU! a nice shower is fab, and a nice bath is equally fab!
ReplyDeletesadly i have a crap bathtub (not literally!) and only get baths if i am away from home. wah. oh well.
I'm awful, I take a hot bath then a shower. But only when I want to soak away for a while. Other times I'm a shower girl ;)
ReplyDeleteI love looking at baths but i hate taking them. i cant stop think i am sitting in my own filth. but dang woman these pics are gorgeous!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am a shower lady all the way, i can't stand to sit in water thinking my germs are intermingling in a sex soup. but i sure love looking at these pics though. amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteI definitely love a bath though I tend not to have the time to escape into one. Most days I just hop in the shower. I had a bath last night though and it is quite pleasant with a glass of wine, a book and bubble bath. I love these images of bathtubs you've found though, definitely more decadent than my humble bath tub
ReplyDeleteI go both ways-- Shower to wake up in the morning, bath to relax before sleep at night.
ReplyDeleteLOVE, love, love the blue tub.
Great pics, as always! Thank you
Occassional baths for me.
ReplyDeleteLovely pics.
both!
ReplyDeletebeautiful tubs:)
Bath always...and for as long as possible. ( Except for the hair washing - but actually I rinse my hair and then get back into the bath!) xv
ReplyDeleteInteresting mix here! But see how adamant the non-tub group is! Cracks me up! I am going to send you all Laura Mercier Bath Wash and you will be converts...maybe.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you...I like both. Though I definitely do not take baths as much as I should. They are so comforting and yet I might take one twice a year. Now, if I had a clawfoot tub, that might be a different story! Great pics.
ReplyDeletei love a claw foot tub that i adore and i know i'll always want one but i don't take baths very much. we use it as a shower.
ReplyDeleteI have to say I am an occasional bath-er :) besides I only have a shower at home ... I have to invite myself :) what a great selection !!!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite things in life is taking a bath... THESE are GORGEOUS. I'll jump right in. Love your post G!
ReplyDeletexoxo Noel
Definitely both...each for its own benefits. Shower to envigorate and wake me up in the AM, bath to relax me at night! Such lovely bath photos. I'm back from your stomping grounds. I do love it there - it was my parents home for 10 years, until my mother died 6 years ago. Their home is still there... we needed to do some more sorting, etc. Emotional!
ReplyDeleteLiza-I am sure that was a trip full of many emotions. Take a great bubble bath and bring a large glass of wine. xoxo g.
ReplyDeleteThe tub with the open doors and the view. My fav!
ReplyDeletei have to go with both. when i studied abroad i had to use a bath - and seriously resented sitting in my own filth each morning haha. but when its a luxury - in a big nice tub with yummy smells...then a bath wins.
ReplyDeletefor everyday - a shower
both! have you ever tried bath bombs from lush? oh my!!
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are great and yes a bath in anyone of those would do me just fine. But I prefer shower - actually both. It does depend on what mood I'm in.
ReplyDeleteI love the 4th picture - Bath with a view!
Bath, bath, bath! Gorgeous photos.
ReplyDeleteFirst time visiting your blog, and I'm hooked!
I like both too - depending on my mood. These are some of the most gorgeous bathrooms I've seen! My jaw dropped at the first two and stayed there as I scrolled down.
ReplyDeleteBoth! They serve different functions. One is to get clean, another is to get relaxed. You picked some great bathtub photos.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful collection! Always loved that fourth image.
ReplyDeleteI go both ways, but prefer a long, hot bath especially if it is out of town in a tub nicer than mine at home.
