Happy Tuesday!

Missed you this weekend, but having a blast in Chicago. Still away, and so bummed as I realized I am taking all of these fun shots, but did not bring my computer thingy to upload them!!! Yikes! Bad amateur photographer. I am so loving it here. Every time I visit a new place, or an old favorite, I fantasize about living there. My husband says I would last about two minutes in Chicago as I only visit in the Summer and have no clue what the winter looks like. I get crabby when it drops below 50 in the Carolina's, so it may not be a good fit. But since I can be practical,(stop laughing, John) daughter three and I decided over lunch that we may live here from May to September and split as soon as necessary. Either way, I love it and seem to be drawn in by the people and places every time I travel.

Do you get that way? Where do you want to split to???

  1. I love Chicago-- When the weather is nice, otherwise, I'm on the first plane outta there. I love NYC in spring and fall too. Summers are nasty hot and winters are just too much work.
Have a great rest of your trip!

  5. G-Missing you. I grew up in Lake Forest, north of Chicago, and still have nightmares about the winters. Trust me. I love love love living in DC. I think it's the most wonderful and beautiful city, and never want to leave! Boring perhaps, but it's a great thing to love where you are, and not wish you were somewhere else. Hurry back!

  10. I bet you already know...Paris! Uhhhh I would live there in a flash! But the same thing, I don't really know the real dynamics of living there. My Dad always laughed at me because where ever i went, I wanted to live there. I see people come to San Clemente and want to live here.. ?? Anyway, my Dad said when ever the responsibility is gone, like the routine, this is where we love to be. I honestly think home is probally my favorite place to be of all.

  11. I completely undertand the 'split syndrome' - it's a bug I can't seem to shake! I would love to split my time between San Francisco and France.

  12. Yes, on the summer, NO on the winter! I lived near Chicago for four years - and oh, the cold winters. The shame is though, that the season is winter, so if you're gone then you'll miss the great concerts, etc.
Maybe you should just fly back every weekend on your private jet :)

  14. They don't call it the Windy City for nothing! There's winter, followed by winter, and more winter, then a blip of what most of us would consider late spring weather - Chicagoans call it August, then winter again. Some fantasies are best left in the fantasy stage.... :)

  15. Sabine-how about the french countryside....and Paris!!!!

Everyone-Glad to hear the winter is so rough. My fantasy is subsiding.

  16. everywhere i go....i say i could live here..i'm sure that isn't true, but i have such a wanderlust, i imagine myself living there. right now on my radar is somewhere like seattle. i could be in so fl in the winter and enjoy the summers in seattle. i think it's because the landscape is so drastically different.
    p.s. love chicago!

  17. I've never been to Chicago but this year my town is windy and cold like a Winter in Chicago. It's not been fun. I don't get out much. My last trip was to Phoenix and I was sweating my makeup off, remember? Have double the fun for me and you, okay?

    Hugs!!

  19. I always want to live wherever I visit. It doesn't matter where it is--almost. I just so easily imagine that THOSE people in THOSE houses on THOSE streets somehow have perfect lives, free of any problems. Not true, of course.

Enjoy the rest of your visit to Chicago!

  20. yay for Chicago! I lived there for a stint and it's a great city. the winters are super harsh, especially when the snowstorms hit and you're shoveling your car out of snow on a daily basis.

  21. I'm splitting from New Orleans for the month of August. Cleaning out the fridge and packing up--no hurried evacuations for me this year. I'm thinking of visiting a friend in Tenant's Harbor, Maine. Ahhh, it makes me feel good just thinking about how beautiful it is there!

  24. I am excited to see I am not the only person with wanderlust! But I do feel there is no place like home.

  25. I don't always want to live wherever I go, but when I get home I am always ready to pack up and go again! Glad you've been having such a good time. I was in Chicago during a summer heat wave. Wow! Hot cement is hot cement no matter where you are!
